About

What is it?
Pauliceia 2.0 is a platform that aims to collaboratively map the history of São Paulo during the period from 1870 to 1940. The project is a partnership between the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP) (Guarulhos and São José dos Campos campuses), the Public Archive of the State of São Paulo, the National Institute for Space Research (INPE), and Emory University (United States). Moreover, the concept of "open science" that guides the project makes it an initiative welcoming to the participation of all interested parties in various stages of its execution.
How does it work?
Through the platform's interface, researchers and scholars of the city can input their data, provided that it is spatially locatable. In this way, a historical cartographic database of the city is enriched with each new data entry, making this information available to everyone. In return, collaborating users will generate a map or a visualization of their own research.
